About Sophie Raven
Sophie was raised in a musical family and began piano lessons at the age of six with Barbara Fielder of Winchester College. Later, at the age of nine, she started singing lessons. While working her way up to grade 8 in both disciplines, she enjoyed performing in numerous music festivals, competitions and musicals. She also has fond memories of singing with the Hampshire County Children's Choir and the Hampshire County Youth Choir.
While at college, Sophie studied Music and Music Technology. This passion for music production was shared with her brother who is a Music Producer with his own studio. She uses her music production skills to serve on the Audio Visual team at All Saints Church, Crowborough.
Sophie obtained her degree at the University of Chichester, BMus Vocal Teaching (2:1). She enjoyed collaborating with other musicians and performing in many recitals.
Sophie continues to collaborate with other musicians by helping to conduct the All Saints Church choir and teaching the young treble singers. She also regularly sings with the All Souls Orchestra, particularly in their annual Prom.
Sophie also spent three years in the Early Years sector perfecting her teaching skills and gaining her Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification. At this time, she also studied with St Helen’s Bishopsgate, London, on the Serving in Song program, which is a course for developing the skills of new worship leaders.
